Working Title: SmashsmashCombat


Each character has Skill, Stamina, and Strength numbers. Each player has seven six-sided dice. Generate your character's numbers by rolling all your dice and assigning the results among Skill, Stamina, and Strength. Skill is a fixed number that describes the character's ability to defend themself. Stamina is a variable number that describes how tough the character feels. Strength is a variable number that describes how hard the character can hit someone. When a character takes damage from an attack, the player can choose whether to subtract that damage from the character's Stamina or Strength. If Stamina or Strength go to zero, the character is out of combat.

When characters fight, the combat proceeds in pairs of actions. Each player declares their character does some combination of attack, move, or defend. After all the players have declared, the referee rolls one twenty-sided die. Any character with Skill less than the referee's roll takes damage equal to the combined Strength of all the attacks that targeted them. A character who defended once can cancel one attack. A character who defended twice can cancel three attacks.
